Comparative language learning has become particularly relevant in connection with the most important practical tasks facing linguistics: the creation of a linguistic base for the theory and practice of translation, effective teaching of foreign languages, etc. The article provides a comparative analysis of compound sentences in Chinese and Bashkir languages belonging to different language families. The main attention is paid to the typological features, structural and functional differences of compositional constructions expressing connective, contrastive, separative and comparative relations. Based on examples from literary texts and grammatical works, the universal and specific features of the syntax of both languages are revealed, due to their analytical and agglutinative structure. The study demonstrates how differences in the system of conjunctive means, intonation, and contextual connections affect the organization of complex sentences. The findings have implications for contrastive linguistics, teaching methods, and translation practice.
