The article is devoted to the urgent problem of studying the vector of international relations of ASEAN countries. The importance of research on the role of ASEAN is due to the construction of a new architecture of international relations. Today, a number of experts state the dismantling of the Yalta-Potsdam system of international relations. A number of Russian authors are developing the idea of a multipolar world. Southeast Asia, which has a significant population, a rapidly growing economy and sales markets, a strategically significant geographical location in terms of logistics routes, has prospects to play a significant role in the world order. The aim of the study is to identify existing trends shaping the ASEAN foreign policy vector. The author gives key importance to the analysis of the factors that form the content of ASEAN's interaction with the largest centers of political influence. The objectives of the study are to describe the stages of the evolution of ASEAN as a supranational organization, analyze the dynamics of economic and geopolitical trends, and describe the forecast background for further development. The author used formal-logical research methods, such as analysis, synthesis, comparison. In his study, the author relied on secondary data obtained as a result of a study by Russian and foreign authors. The results of the study are theoretical and will be useful for the theoretical justification of models of international relations. Further development of the subject of research is of high importance for the analysis of international relations at the present stage.
