LINGUISTIC AND CULTURAL FEATURES OF SET PHRASES WITH THE WORD BLOOD IN ENGLISH AND UDMURT LANGUAGES

The article is devoted to the lexical and semantic analysis of English and Udmurt set phrases with the word blood (English blood and Udmurt вир). The methodology includes comparative analysis, methods of corpus linguistics and linguistic and cultural interpretation. The research is based on the material of lexicographic sources and national corpora of English and Udmurt languages. The universal and distinctive features of the conceptualization of blood in non-cognate languages are revealed, that reflect the national specifics of the linguistic worldviews under consideration.
