The historical and philosophical context reveals education as a complex integral system, where knowledge becomes not only an end in itself, but also a means of qualitative social transformations. The concept of the "national idea" arose in the intellectual circles of post-reform Russia, becoming the fruit of deep reflections of outstanding Russian philosophers, historians and publicists. The study concluded that education is a fundamental mechanism for the formation of a national idea and the transformation of public consciousness in Russia.
