Since the active establishment of the internationalization of education around the world, the policy of higher education institutions in the Russian Federation has also begun to undergo drastic changes, including the massive export of domestic educational services abroad and the provision of opportunities for people from abroad to study at Russian universities. Despite the fact that the phenomenon of internationalization in Russia was first encountered in 1602, the reality of the last 50 years has been the most fruitful and dynamic, taking into account recent historical, political and economic conflicts. The process of modern integration of educational systems into the global community dates back to the 1980s and was institutionalized in the mid-1990s. In 2003, the Bologna system significantly influenced domestic higher education institutions, which will be abolished in Russia in 2022 due to its inefficiency. As a result, the Government of the Russian Federation decided to integrate a new educational trajectory that is more relevant to the domestic realities, including basic, specialized and professional higher education. These trends have a significant impact on the development of the export potential of the Russian education system, including its internationalization.
