MORAL AND VOLITIONAL QUALITIES AS A SYSTEM-FORMING COMPONENT OF THE PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE OF A FUTURE PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER

The article discusses the problem of defining and systematizing moral and volitional qualities as a key element of the professional competence of a future physical education teacher. It is shown that the moral and volitional sphere of a teacher is an internal regulator of professional behavior, ensuring the unity of ethical attitudes, self-discipline and pedagogical tact. Based on the analysis of domestic and foreign psychological and pedagogical research, the concept of moral and volitional qualities is clarified as an integrative complex of personal properties that ensure morally justified and volitional behavior of a teacher in conditions of physical culture and sports activities. A structural model of moral and volitional qualities has been developed, which includes four interrelated components - motivational—value, cognitive, regulatory-volitional and behavioral-activity. Empirical evidence of the importance of moral and volitional qualities was obtained by expert weighing, which was attended by experts in the field of pedagogy and sports. The results showed that during the transition from the general pedagogical level to the professional profile of a physical education teacher, moral, ethical and volitional qualities demonstrate the greatest increase in importance (Δ = +0.20; W = 0.74). It has been established that it is the moral and volitional sphere of the teacher's personality that determines safety, justice and trust in the educational environment. The conclusion is made about the need to include moral and volitional qualities in the core of the professional model of training future physical education teachers and their purposeful formation in the process of vocational training and educational work at the university.
