The article actualizes and describes the problem of early career guidance for preschool children in conditions of unstable professional orientation of the younger generation. The authors provide an overview of regulatory documents, as well as basic and modern research on this issue. A meaningful description of the "professional orientation" construct is the basis for highlighting the indicators of preschool children's labor education. The results of studying the professional orientation of preschool children in the world of professions, understanding and willingness to perform labor actions are presented. The substantiation of the continuity of professional orientation of preschool children and a promising solution to the problem through innovative educational and educational practices is revealed.
