The society of the 21st century is characterized by the rapid development of various professions and digital transformations of all their sectors, which contributes to the formation of veterinary medicine, as well as related disciplines and specialties. In addition to the most important medical concepts, veterinary terminology includes words from scientific sections on chemistry, physics, biology, anatomy, virology, pharmacology, surgery and other thesauri. Along with the above aspects, specialists in the field of veterinary medicine currently have full access to international scientific and medical information resources (open bibliographic databases and scientometric Internet platforms). According to the results of the study, the predominance of absolute synonyms among definitions is an important milestone in the "historiography" of the development of the veterinary terminology system. Moreover, these factors of medical development contribute to the emergence of medical neologisms in the German language. Among the most productive ways to form new synonyms in a designated language are morphological (derivation and conversion), morphosyntactic (word composition, abbreviation and ellipsis), as well as syntactic and semantic. The most productive methods are suffixing and the formation of new lexical units by addition.
