The article analyzes the daily life of the largest administrative center of the Middle Volga region, the city of Kuibyshev (now Samara) in the last years of the Great Patriotic War. The period 1941-1943 in the history of Samara has been studied in detail by Russian historians. It was a time when the regional center was in the status of the "reserve capital" of the USSR. This study focuses primarily on the period from mid-1943 to mid-1945.. The activities of regional and city authorities on the organization of daily life of citizens are studied. It shows how the housing and food problems of the urban population were solved, what measures were taken to organize public catering and landscaping in the city. The changes in the spheres of medical and cultural services are investigated. The article uses archival and documentary sources, including those of personal origin.
