The article examines the role of Russia in the formation and development of the personality of the outstanding Azerbaijani turkologist, philosopher, ideologist, scientist, encyclopedist, poet, artist, doctor, teacher Ali bek Huseyn oglu Huseynzade (Ali Turan). The article briefly analyzes his years of study at St. Petersburg University (1885-1889) at the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, as well as free visits to the university's Oriental studies department. To enhance his artistic skills, Ali bek was an active visitor to the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. The article emphasizes that Russia certainly had an important beneficial influence on the development of Ali bek Huseynzade's personality throughout his life.
