MEANS OF IMPLEMENTING THE FUNCTIONS OF THE COMMUNICATIVE CATEGORY OF TOLERANCE IN AMERICAN POLITICAL DISCOURSE

This study analyses the communicative category of tolerance in modern American political discourse, drawing on a corpus of interviews with U.S. politicians from 2024-2025. The research is grounded in the theoretical framework of I. A. Sternin's communicative categories, Yu. V. Yuzhakova's concept of linguistic tolerance, and A. G. Kudryavtsev's classification of the functions of linguistic tolerance. The means of actualising the principles of tolerance have been classified according to their functions. The study identifies and systematises the specific linguistic means and communicative strategies employed to realise these functions.
