The study of demographic processes during the Civil War remains one of the topical issues for study. Quite a large number of works have been written on the study of demographic processes in large cities in different periods of historical retrospective. The study of the influence of the Civil War processes on the population of small county towns has been little studied, which makes this topic relevant today. The scientific novelty of the article lies in the fact that, based on the data of the registers of Orthodox churches, the Jewish synagogue, and the Polish church, the demographic processes of the city of Mariinsk during the period of «White Siberia», as well as in the city of Tayga, is considered. The work examines the indicators of birth rate, marriage and mortality, and presents general demographic statistics on the number of urban population of Mariinsk and Tayga, based on archival materials, as well as information from the periodical press. The dynamics of changes in the number of urban population caused by the "influx" of refugees from the Central regions of Russia is noted. It is noted that the consequences of the Civil War had a direct impact on demographic processes in Mariinsk and Tayga. During the period under study, there is a gradual decrease in marriage rates, as well as an increase in the age of grooms entering into marriage, in addition, there is a decrease in birth rates in general, as well as an increase in the total number of births to the refugee population of the cities of Mariinsk and Tayga. The most common cause of death of the urban population during this period of time is typhus, the main carriers of which were refugees and soldiers arriving in the cities.
