Teaching verbs in Russian language classes to Chinese students faces a contradiction between traditional teaching models and modern requirements for competence development, which manifests itself in problems such as focusing on grammar instead of its practical application, limited teaching methods, and inadequate assessment systems. This study, based on second language acquisition theory, lexical acquisition, and the situational approach, analyzes the shortcomings of traditional lecture-based teaching methods and the effects of situational interactivity. Russian language teachers who teach Chinese students should develop curricula tailored to specific learning objectives when teaching verbs in Russian language classes. Methodological synergy and technological capabilities can bridge the gap between knowledge acquisition and practical application.

Keywords:Russian verbs (RV), situational approach, Chinese classroom, lexical skills, teaching methods, Chinese students.
