This paper examines ways to verbalize the image of femininity in the American media in a diachronic aspect. As a result, a semantic analysis of lexical units used to construct femininity, differentiated by chronological periods, is presented. The author reveals that the media actively participates in the formation of images of femininity, reacting to socio-cultural changes and presenting both established and new gender constructs determined by the socio-historical parameters of society. A diachronic analysis of the ways of verbalizing the image of femininity in the English-language information media space has allowed us to record a significant semantic evolution reflecting changes in the understanding of femininity and its manifestations.
