IMPLEMENTATION OF LANGUAGE ANTINOMY IN OCCASIONAL WORDS OF MEDIA DISCOURSE

The modern word usage demonstrates the extreme activity of updating linguistic means, especially noticeable in the language of the media. Occasional words of the media discourse are considered on the basis of language sign asymmetry theory, and as a complex of contradictions (antinomies). Classification of contextual word-forming pairs is presented. Particular attention is paid to the dynamic asymmetry of the language sign, which is expressed in violation of the proportionality of word meanings and forms in the process of word formation. Antinomies of different levels are considered, as well as the ways to resolve them.
