The article examines the associative and semantic connection between the concepts of "conscience" and "good" as a fundamental tool for fostering a moral compass and a system of spiritual values in children and young adults. This moral quality is defined based on the lexical and semantic compatibility of words as one of the fundamental concepts in the Russian national worldview. Through a linguistic and cultural analysis, it is revealed that "conscience" is an essential quality of a "good" person, which determines the use of linguistic units associated with this concept in literature. In Jezebel Morgan's novel "Walk Through the Dark Forest," which served as the basis for this article, the significance of conscience in the moral development of an individual and its inseparable connection with the concept of "good" are explored through the lens of fairy-tale and mythological narratives.
Keywords:conscience, linguoculture, upbringing, personality, goodness, concept.
