PROBLEMS AND CHALLENGES OF PROFESSIONALLY ORIENTED FOREIGN LANGUAGE EDUCATION IN A NON-LINGUISTIC UNIVERSITY

This article presents an overview of the main tasks of professionally oriented foreign language education in non-linguistic higher education institutions. Special attention is given to modern technologies used in the teaching process on various faculties. The authors of the study aim to correlate the practical experience of teaching English in the university with the pedagogical goals outlined in the course curriculum. Moreover, the main needs of students related to studying a foreign language in higher education have been analyzed. Additionally, the authors assess the level of engagement of foreign language teachers and the current role of the academic discipline as such within the overall ecosystem of modern professional education.
