Modernization approach to studying the history of the Soviet militia

The article is devoted to the theoretical and methodological problems of studying the history of the Soviet militia in modern conditions. The role of the modernization approach is shown in the socio-humanitarian discourse. The author reveals the basic premise of studying the history of the militia authorities in the context of the modernization of the Soviet society and outlines the approaches to the study of the Soviet militia as the subject and the object of modernization. The conclusion has been made that the modernization approach contributes to the implementation of the systematic principle in the study of the history of the Soviet militia.
