The question of a woman’s state in her family and society has been popular among writers for all times. The 60-90s of the XX century are characterized by second-wave feminism. So, there was published the novel The Color Purple by Alice Walker in 1982, where she touches the question of a colored woman and concerns it from different angles. From her point of view, a woman is not an object for a man’s satisfaction, but a real person with her own desires and interests.
