he article considers Russian and foreign practice of introduction of "mobile technology" in the educational process; emphasis on major historical stages of the emergence of "mobile learning" in the world; the major factors, in our opinion, influencing the introduction of information technologies in the educational process of the Russian Federation; the analysis of the readiness of students and teaching staff to the possibility to use "mobile technologies" for organization of educational process and professional training on the basis of Magnitogorsk state technical University.
