An open information environment as an opportunity for modern tourist education

Modern classical social and humanities do not always keep pace with the rapid changes in modern society. Their positivist traditions and classical formalism are not combined with the complex postmodern processes taking place in a “crumbling” society and a crisis economy. Tourism, as a new social and humanitarian scientific discipline, can become a field of topical extradislinary research of a modern chaotic economy and a modern “asocial” society, which can no longer be explored using traditional “objective” methods. Tourism can become a kind of post-formal way of describing the modern world, can correctly describe the ongoing fundamental changes in modern society and its economy. But in order to realize this potential opportunity, tourism as an academic discipline must rely on modern non-standard forms of education (meta-education).
