This article examined the foreign policy actions of Greece under the government of E. Venizelos on the conclusion of the Greek-Bulgarian defensive alliance on the eve of the Balkan wars of 1912-1913. This study is the first in Russian historiography, where the course of negotiations between Greece and Bulgaria on the conclusion of the 1912 treaty was analyzed in detail. As a result of the study, important aspects of the negotiation process that led to the conclusion of the union agreement were revealed in the Balkan region
