In the article, the author reveals the professional, charitable, educational activities of Prince V. N. Tenishev and Princess M. K. Tenisheva in the Bryansk district of the Orel province in the 80s of the XIX century. Their contribution to the opening of schools, vocational schools, improving the lives of workers of the Bryansk rail Rolling plant, preserving Russian culture and traditions.
