The article is devoted to the analysis of the artistic concept of love in the lyrics of M. Lermontov and its influence on the formation of an emotional and value-based attitude to love in Russian culture. The study is based on the analysis of Lermontov's poems, as well as on the generalization and interpretation of existing research on this topic. The authors come to the conclusion that the artistic concept of love, presented in Lermontov’s lyrics, has a significant impact on the emotional and value-based attitude to love in Russian culture, forming a complex and contradictory idea of love as a passionate and painful feeling that can cause both suffering and happiness.
