The authors of the article consider the artistic originality of the works of the modern writer Andrei Volos. The milestones of the characters' life path are conveyed through the perception of the mountain landscape. The description of mountains and the feelings they evoke reflects the dynamics of the characters' mental life. The mountain landscape and the motif of climbing the mountain acquires symbolic significance.
