the article reveals the pedagogical role and research possibilities of the axiological approach in the process of developing the social activity of older people. Attention is paid to considering the principles of the axiological approach related to the problem of social activity of older people. (equivalence; socio-cultural equality; axiological interiorization; axiological dominants). The main functions of the axiological approach related to the development of social activity of older people are highlighted (gnostic orientation, information, evaluative, technological integrative).
