The article examines the features and challenges of national press development using the example of the media in the Jewish Autonomous Region (JAR) and concludes that national print media in the region is in decline.
Using comparative-historical, descriptive, and analytical research methods, which enabled the study of the press's history and development patterns, the authors conclude that this trend reflects both global and local processes occurring in the country. Specifically, demographic changes and the absence of an effective mechanism for cooperation with business structures have led to the near disappearance of once-thriving Jewish publications.
