RECENT BORROWINGS OF THE ENGLISH TERMINOLOGY OF THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES

This article presents a structural and semantic analysis of English terms from the field of information technologies, that have entered the Russian language over the past two decades and become a part of its borrowed vocabulary. The relevance of the study stems from the rapid and extensive development of information and digital technologies, which has led to the emergence of new IT terms and their widespread adoption in the Russian language, extending beyond professional communication. After examining the concepts of “term”, “IT term system” and “Anglicism”, the article classifies the English language term-borrowings, analyzes their semantics using lexicographic sources and identifies the mechanisms of their integration into the terminology of the Russian language. The article concludes that the English language terms related to the sphere of information and digital technologies are increasingly permeating the Russian language, driven by the production of digital hardware and software.
