CONCEPTUALIZATION OF THE 'HAND' IN ARABIC AND RUSSIAN PAREMIOLOGY: A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE SOMATIC CODE

The article is devoted to a comparative analysis of the conceptualization of the somatic code of the "hand" in Arabic and Russian paremiological systems. Based on the comparative study of paremias with the "hand" component, significant differences in value connotations and cultural meanings fixed in linguistic worldviews are revealed. The methods of linguistic and cultural and cognitive analysis are used in the work, which make it possible to reveal the ethnocultural specifics of bodily metaphors in the paremiological fund of two languages. The results of the study demonstrate how similar somatic images can encode fundamentally different cultural attitudes and value orientations.
