The article presents various approaches to defining the content of the concept of competitiveness of a specialist; based on the analysis of definitions, the key features of this concept are identified and the author's interpretation of the term is presented. In addition, the structure of competitiveness of a specialist is outlined. It is concluded that in modern studies, competitiveness is considered as a two-level structure consisting of professional and supra-professional components. It is noted that at the present stage the dynamics of changes in society, production and economy are so great that a specialist cannot be considered competitive without adaptability skills. The role of digital competencies in the process of developing and maintaining a high level of competitiveness of a specialist is outlined.
