A METHOD OF TEACHING FOREIGN LANGUAGE MONOLOGUE TO 4TH-GRADE STUDENTS USING SILENT BOOKS

This study focuses on the introduction of silent books, an effective stimulating aid, into the teaching of a foreign language (specifically, English). The relevance of the study stems from the need to improve the development of monologue skills in primary school students through the search for modern visual aids. The article presents experimental data based on a survey of teachers and a diagnostic assessment of 4th-grade students' monologue skills. These data indicate an insufficient level of development of primary school students' monologue skills due to their inability to construct their messages logically and consistently. To overcome difficulties with motivation for speaking and the correct structuring of utterances in English, within the framework of this study, a method of step-by-step work with silent books as a stimulating visual aid in the process of teaching monologue speech to 4th-grade students was developed.
