The article considers the peculiarities of the accession of the Far East to Russia in the XVII-XIX centuries, taking into account the problems of interethnic interaction. The authors emphasize the unconditional relevance and significance of the accession of the Far Eastern lands to the multinational Russian state, taking into account the need to ensure and protect its geopolitical interests in the Asia-Tikhookean region. The article presents a historical excursion of the development of the Far Eastern region by Russians. Particular attention in the article is given to the consideration of interethnic interaction with indigenous peoples living in the Far East, as part of the accession of these lands to Russia. As a result of the consideration of these issues, the authors draw a number of conclusions regarding the methods and significance of the inclusion of the Far East in Russia.
